Smart Catalogs

Smart Catalogs in DiskLibrary are filtered lists of files based on the contents of all catalogs. The lists will be dynamically updated if catalogs are added or removed.

Import from Third-party programs

DiskLibrary can import the following third-party file formats:
  • DiskTracker 2.3.3 or higher export files
  • CDFinder version 4.7 or higher export files
  • FileFinder 1.4 or higher TEXT export files
  • WhereIsIt for Windows 3.83 or higher Report XML files

For CDFinder, please make sure you have set the export settings exactly like the screenshot below.

For DiskTracker, make sure you have the following columns visible in DiskTracker:Name, Size, Kind, Type, Path, Creator, Created Date, Modified Date, Item note. Also select the 'file size in bytes' option when creating the export.
For DiskTracker, please make sure you have set the export settings exactly like the screenshot below.

For FileFinder, make sure you have all the fields selected in the Export to TEXT panel. The selected date format should be yyyy-mm-dd H:M:S.
For WhereIsIt follow the following steps:
  1. Go to the Report Generator (File->Report Generator menu)
  2. Choose the "Custom report from Main Window" as report type. Select "XML File" as export destination and "XML" as export type:

  3. Select the top of the catalog tree in the tree selector and press the Macro button. Choose "Expand from selected the next..." and then "All levels":

  4. Press the "Export" button in the upper left part of the window.
  5. Choose the directory and name for the export file.
