You may fine-tune the following options but by default it has already been tuned to your system.

"My reader connection is": used to increase how much data is read at one time. For a fixed hard drive you may want to move this towards the 'Fast'  end of the scale.

"Give up recovery": indicates how hard the application will try to get at a piece of faulty data. The highger the value the more times the application will try to read the data on the selected media.
