About Outlook Profiler v1.0 - The "Outlook Profiler" is a software application designed to automate the task of resetting MS Outlook to your desired settings with the click of a button. It has been developed specifically for the software training industry to reduce the time needed between classes and seminars to prepare for the next batch of students. When done manually, it can take a trainer anywhere from 3 to 15 minutes per computer to reconfigure Outlook. When multiplied by several desktops, and several classes per week, this can equate to dozens of hours of wasted time, with the potential for mistakes and inconsistencies. The Outlook Profiler does the same job in approximately 4 seconds per computer, with complete digital accuracy. It offers the additional benefit of saving an unlimited number of Outlook user profiles so that any desired profile can be brought up instantly - this is a great feature for students that come back on a regular schedule. The bottom line is that the Outlook Profiler will save you considerable time and money. We have priced it to be affordable even to the smallest software training companies. |

Installation - The installation process has been fully automated. Simply double click the "Setup.exe" file included with the standard distribution. The installation program will allow you to specify a location to install the program. By default, it resides in the program directory, but will function outside as well. The setup program also sets up shortcuts if desired. |

Operation - To launch the Outlook Profiler, you must first close any open instances of Microsoft Outlook. You may then launch the program using one of the shortcuts added during installation, or locating OutlookProfiler.exe yourself and double-clicking it. The active MS Outlook settings may be saved to a profile on the Export tab:
After at least one profile has been exported, it become available for import on the Import tab. Simply highlight the profile you wish to use, click "Run Now", and the program will overwrite the active MS Outlook settings with the saved profile. You may have an unlimited number of saved profiles.
An additional convenience to the program is the ability to set a "Default Profile". This would be advantageous if you wanted to use the same profile on a machine after every training class. It is setup on the Import tab. Right click on the profile you want, and select "Set as Default". Once set, all you need to do is click "Run Now" on the Reset tab.

Known Bugs - There is only one known bug in Outlook Profiler v1.0: any profiles exported from MS Outlook 2000 will not be available for import if you upgrade to Outlook 2002. This is because the settings file structure is very different between the 2 versions of MS Outlook. If you are upgrading from Outlook 2000 to 2002, go to the Options tab of Outlook Profiler and click "Remove Outlook Profiler". You will then need to re-install the program after upgrading to Outlook 2002. |
